Hit and Run Theater returns to the stage at the Hill House of Mendocino on June 8 and 9 for two nights of comedy. Mendocino Stories and Music Series will present two evenings of improvised fun, games and skits with Jill Jahelka, Ken Krauss, Doug Nunn, Kathy O’Grady, Christine Samas, Dan Sullivan, and Steve Weingarten, as well as musical accompanist Laura Derry. The entertainment starts at 7:30PM.
Kathy O’Grady has been a Hit and Runner since its first shows back in the late 1970s. She has directed both MTC and Jumpstart children’s theatre productions over the past decade. Jill Jahelka, a veteran of many Gloriana shows, recently took over the postmaster position at Fort Bragg, while Steve Weingarten has been diligently doing ceramics and rock sculptures outside “Weinchester Cathedral”, south of Fort Bragg.
Doug Nunn coaches the Mendocino High School Improv Club each winter and migrates summers to Germany and Austria to work with theatre groups. The delightful Christine Samas has charmed Hit and Run fans for the past two years, while Dan Sullivan, an improviser since the sixth grade, has been working with the group for the past three years. He is presently starring in “brewdies.com”, a web-based comedy show, and performing with the SF improv groups, “Tilted Frame” and “FutureStyle ‘79”.
Voiceover artist Ken Krauss, who has worked with both the Mendocino Theatre Company as an actor/sound designer and the Mendocino Film Festival as a publicist, is back with Hit and Run once again. Long-time Bay Area Theatresports improviser and musical accompanist, Laura Derry has worked with a variety of groups across Northern California since 1990.
All Ages Welcome! Doors open at 6:30 PM for bistro menu and drinks. Come early for best seating. Sliding scale $15 – 10. Call Pattie at 937-1732 or www.mendocinostories.com/
