Mendocino Stories & Music Series on March 30 & 31
Mendocino Stories and Music Series welcomes back Hit and Run Theater for two nights of improvised fun, games and stories. They will play at the Hill House of Mendocino on Friday and Saturday, March 30 & 31. The players are Jill Jahelka, Ken Krauss, Doug Nunn, Kathy O’Grady, Christine Samas, Dan Sullivan, and Steve Weingarten. Joshua Brody, “just maybe the greatest improv comedy keyboard accompanist”, will join the gang for this weekend. The shows will start at 7:30PM.
Special feature for this weekend’s engagement is a “Song Improvisation Workshop for beginners … and the terrified!” led by Joshua Brody, music director for San Francisco’s BATS Improv. The workshop will be held Saturday afternoon at the Hill House. Says Joshua, “Starting with the very basics — breathing, ear training, vocal production — students are led gradually and painlessly through all the elements that go into making a song, culminating in solos, duets, group numbers, even opera!” Joshua has been teaching song improvisation for over thirty years. $30 for a 3-hour workshop.
All Ages Welcome! Doors open at 6:30 PM for bistro menu and drinks. Come early for best seating. Sliding scale $15 – 10 at the door. For more information about the shows and the workshop call Pattie at 937-1732 or www.mendocinostories.com/events.

Mendocino Stories and Music Series on April 20
Mendocino Stories and Music Series will feature two unique collaborations with some of our favorite local musicians on Friday, April 20. All accomplished musicians in their own right – “Ghost Pony” is Gwyneth Moreland and Angie Heimann. “The B Team” is Richard Fienbop, Buddy Stubbs and John Bush. Music starts at 7:30PM at the Mendocino Hotel.
After years of co-bills, co-tours and other back-road shenanigans, Angie Heimann (of The Blushin’ Roulettes) and Gwyneth Moreland (of Gwyneth & Monko and Foxglove) have decided to make it official. Carefully crafted harmonies and lyrics are supported by an old-timey acoustic instrumentation. The B Team brings a guitar driven mix of old faves and original tunes in a rockin’ alt country ska folk reggae blend with a hint of afro pop just for flavor.
All ages welcome. Doors open at 6:30 PM with a bistro menu and full bar. $15 – $10 at the door. More info, 707-937-1732 or www.mendocinostories.com/events.html
